Build the world's best knowledge tools

Knowledge is one of the most crucial assets for productivity, innovation, and execution. But companies spend $30B a year on knowledge management tools that do more harm than good.

Falconer is creating a knowledge platform that builders love. No more answering or asking repetitive questions in Slack; no more blank page syndrome; no more outdated content. Our tools let customers focus on building.

Falconer's operating principles

Build something you're proud of

We have an ambitious vision to reimagine how we think, communicate, and share knowledge at work. We started Falconer because we're fed up with existing tools. We build products and features we wholeheartedly take pride in. We build what our customers need and think deeply about UX.

Autonomy through focus

We treasure the time we have to focus and build. This is done by minimizing distractions, building simple communication structures, and working asynchronously. We see recurring meetings, peer-to-peer Slack support, and emails as defects to correct. Solving hard problems means having plenty of time to focus.

Meaningful collaboration

We mostly communicate through an effective writing culture. This allows us to make live collaboration fun and energizing. We don't meet for status updates—we meet to have open-ended, freewheeling conversations that unearth creativity, exciting ideas, and new possibilities.

Learn through building

We care about impact over activities and rituals. You will be empowered to build, experiment, and make quick decisions. Sound judgment, learning quickly, and proper risk-taking are greatly rewarded. If you're spending time on something that's not producing sufficient value, you must quickly address it.

Not boring

To maintain momentum and attract the best talent, we must have an atmosphere that feels interesting, alive, and electric. If it doesn't, we're not being sufficiently productive, fast, or ambitious. We need to take good risks, understand our shortcomings, and lean in to our strengths. Complacency is a major flaw that we must avoid.

Own your arc

We heavily reward strong performance. If you're not growing your skills, your responsibility, and your value, we will quickly address it. We hire, reward, and retain high-performing people with room to grow. You are the best judge of your growth arc, and must take ownership of how to increase your value and impact over time.
