Falconer is creating the programmable knowledge layer to power humans and agents to do extraordinary work. We're building intelligent self-generating, self-updating knowledge products to take on the $30B per year knowledge management market.

We're investing in a product designer early to work alongside Falconer's founders and engineers to build something 100x better than what exists today.

About you

As a Founding Product Designer, you'll help us shape brand new product experiences and form factors to achieve our mission. You'll help us define our design philosophy and build out the design team of your dreams. By joining early, you'll have immense influence on Falconer's trajectory.

Key responsibilities:

• Work alongside engineers for the entire product development lifecycle—from ideation, to prototyping, to testing, to shipping
• Consistently talk to users and understand how to solve their problems
• Build experiences that pleasantly surprise users in ways they didn't expect
• Take performance and latency into account for your designs. All of our products must be—and feel—fast and magical.
• Consistently test our products to ensure they're devoid of friction, performance issues, and confusion
• Design the connective tissue to keep users engaged and informed—from simple animations, to notifications, to status pages
• Document and share your knowledge with the rest of the team—the Falconer platform will help you!
• Stay updated with emerging trends and make recommendations for adopting new patterns and practices
• Set and enforce the product quality bar, and help the founders find the right designers and engineers to fulfill Falconer's vision

Who you are:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in product design
• Ability to ask great questions, both in understanding the right problem to solve, and challenging the founders and engineers in their assumptions
• Skilled at prompt engineering, or willingness to learn
• You can tell the story behind your design decisions to help Falconer make the right tradeoffs
• You enjoy hard problems and open-ended assignments
• You bring inspiration from anywhere—the further away from software and tech the better
• You use data to inform decisions, and experiment your way around hard problems—but nothing is a replacement for your intuition and conviction
• You lean into the quirks and traits that make you creative and special

Bonus points:

• You can prototype quickly with LLM-powered tools
• You have experience conducting user research
• You're a strong writer
